Life is a theater - invite your audience carefully. Not everyone is holy enough and healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go, or at least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not going anywhere relationships/friendships/fellowships!
Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention to:
Which ones lift and which ones lean?
Which ones encourage and which ones discourage?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill?
When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel. Worse?
Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know and appreciate you and the gifts that lies within you?
Some people bring unexpected lightness and comfort to your life. They crackle with energy, practically electrifying you with their presence. And then there are those who leave you stressed out or guilty or exhausted down to your last molecule. (But we won't talk about them). Friends come in all forms. Believe it or not our friends and acquaintences are much like a favorite song or at least the music we like to listen to, for example: some people are like Pop, Soft Rock, Easy Listening, Jazz, Old School, Rap, R & B and Hip-Hop. Still others may be Classical, Alternative, Grunge, Heavy Metal, even Acid Rock. But whatever form they take there is no reason for the rest of us to abandon our songs (i.e. ourselves) because of them. Maybe we need to sing our songs louder and assert ourselves. I think people need to start listening to the "music" of their heart. What kind of music (i.e. people) are you listening to?
The more you seek God and the things of God -- the more you seek quality, the more you seek not just the hand of God but the face of God--the more you seek things honorable--the more you seek growth, peace of mind, love and truth around you, the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in the FRONT ROW and who should be moved to the balcony of your life.
You cannot change the people around you...but you can change the people you are around!
Ask God for wisdom and discernment and choose wisely the people who sit in the front row of y

"Such light, such joy flows out from this house. It affects all who come here. Love all, even the beggars. Send no one away without a word of cheer, a feeling that you care" - God Calling
The Joy of Love
Thank you (Father) for reminding me to love those closest to me, to cherish and treasure them and not take them for granted. I can speak with eloquence and pass out all sorts of good advice. Still, I must have a true sincere love. I can have all sorts of spiritual gifts, but they are worthless unless my love is pure and selfless. I can give all sorts of gifts and help others, but they mean nothing without your unconditional love.
Father, you have called me to love. Let it come from you, I pray. Let me love, not envy. Let me listen and care, not brag or put down. Help me look past the faults and see others needs. Let me look for the good in them. Help me bear the griefs, share the dreams, hope the hopes, and see past the faults of those who need love.
When my patience is stretched help my love never fail. Fill my cup with your spirit--fill it woth love until I overflow. Then, like a well within me let me give that love. And give it. And give it. The more I give, the more you place within me. Since this love isn't conjured up within me, it can only come from you Lord. I thank you and praise you for your call to love. When love is given, so comes the joy. - from Journal "When I Am On My Knees" by Anita Corrine Donihue
